Tutor in Morristown, New Jersey

I work with students of all ages in an individualized setting to cater a study plan and highlight areas of strength and weakness. I want to help students achieve their fullest potential in math, reading, writing, and social studies disciplines across all levels. Students and I will work together to create learning goals and approaches, and I commit to adjusting my tutoring to the needs of the student. I also want to work with students in the college admissions process. I earned a 36 on the ACT, 1540 on the SAT, and two 800s and a 790 on SAT Subject Tests, which helped earn me a place in the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. I will help students identify common question types on these exams and develop personal strategies for success. Finally, students and I will work together to write compelling and unique personal statements and essay supplements. I have volunteered as a tutor throughout my time at Morristown High School, working with TeenPride students to practice high school-level math, history, and writing (including college essays). At Georgetown, I am a volunteer literacy support tutor for elementary-age students in DC. I am eager to talk more about my experience and strategies as a tutor with students and families! Over the course of the summer, I am available all days except Fridays, at whatever time works best for students and families. I am open to - and have experience - working with students online and in-person. I am looking forward to working with students hoping for a supportive, individualized approach to learning from an understanding peer.
