I come from a Spanish speaking home; my mother is from Peru, and even though my father is American, he also learned Spanish and therefore, we were all expected to speak Spanish inside the home. I've spent several summers working in the U.S Embassy in Peru where I've had the opportunity to use my bilingual skills to translate documents and articles. In high school, I received a 5 (highest possible score) on the A.P. Spanish test without having taken the class. Such a score allowed me to fulfill all of my language course requirements at the university I attended. I am very patient and understand common mistakes made when learning a second language. I'm very empathetic to individuals learning a new language, so don't be scared and don't be shy!
