Please note: I am offering English as a Second Language (ESL) and Spanish tutoring. My name is Amanda and am confident you will feel comfortable and have enjoyable lessons while we find the best ways to help you with Spanish or English. Everyone learns differently and I have given private language lessons to students ages 6-50, always having fun and working with your learning style. Since I'm sure you will ask, no, I am a native English speaker, but not a native Spanish speaker. Being a native speaker means you can speak the language, but explaining it is an entirely different matter. Since I am a teacher, I know the grammar, rules and the ability to answer students questions. I know the types of errors my students are likely to make in Spanish especially, because I've been there learning them myself for 10 years. I can immediately help students by translating most terms they have a problem with. I can give clear instructions in our shared English mother tongue so tasks in Spanish can be carried out. About Me: - Contracted teacher in Spain twice in the past three years (Andalusia and Galicia provinces) - Majored in both Spanish and Linguistics (the science of language) - Studied abroad in Spain - Solid proficiency in both Castilian and 'Latino' Spanish, as well as their cultures - 10 years speaking Spanish - Native English speaker and English teacher for 2 years in Spain. - 2 years teaching experience, most of which included private lessons/tutoring to ALL ages - Working proficiency in Portuguese (Brazilian) as well If you have any further questions or want to discuss potential classes, contact me by email, phone or text.
