I'm an
Individual
For high school students of all years--summer tutoring in SAT prep, calculus, mechanics, and other high school math (geometry, algebra, etc.). I have experience as a peer tutor, and my work with students in the past has yielded better grades and higher scores. I have a strong mathematical intuition, and as a result I'm capable of explaining concepts simply, in a way that's easy to digest. I am very patient and friendly. I have taken courses as advanced as multivariable calculus and discrete math (and am able to tutor in either, if desired). I got a 2400 SAT, self-studied--so I know, from experience, preparation techniques that work. $40 an hour. Math and physics: I can either brush up on familiar concepts or introduce new ones--whatever the student needs. To reiterate: I'm well-studied in all levels of calculus and in Newtonian mechanics. I'm able to tutor for either, or a combination of the two. I also know the material of any course that is found in the typical high school mathematics sequence. SAT prep: The new SAT. I know some excellent test-taking and problem-solving strategies that are useful for this test. I understand its format, and I'm familiar with the types of problems they throw at students. I can also tutor for the SAT Subject Tests in Mathematics Level 2 and in Literature. (Received an 800 and 780 on them, respectively.) Of course I cannot guarantee a perfect score, but I can promise that, with some instruction, the student will feel less intimidated by the test and, instead, more confident that he/she can earn a score that reflects his/her abilities. Some information about me: I'm a nineteen-year-old male who graduated high school last year and then graduated again this past month--this time from a post-graduate program. I like playing soccer and tennis, and I'm a fan of the Warriors. I play guitar, acoustic mostly. My favorite food is sushi and my favorite number is 2. 2 is the only even prime. Scheduling: I live in Pac Heights, and I can easily travel to the Marina and the Presidio, as well. We can meet in home of the student, or in a local coffee shop with free wireless connection--wherever's comfortable and convenient. I'm available any day of the week this summer between 10:30am and 6pm. Please email, call, or text. Nick Park The Hill School '16. UC Berkeley '20, intended math major.
