As a parent there are few things in life that are harder than watching your child struggle in school and not know how to help them. As a mom of two elementary school aged boys who have both had speech and language delays, I know that feeling. I am in my senior year of my bachelors degree in special education and elementary education. I have my substitute certification and have worked with children for the past 14 years. (some as a nurse for a pediatric doctor and in education). I believe in an individual learning approach that focuses on a child's current strengths and abilities so that new skills and strengths can be built from knowledge. I believe that every child can be successful with the right type of teaching, and since every child learns in a different way I look for how the student learns best and find the best instruction that would maximize that students learning possibility. My main areas of tutoring include reading and reading comprehension, science, social studies and elementary math. I have a clear background check and professional references.
