Looking for a baby-sitter/tutor/mentor? Whether your child is general or special education, I'm your girl! I am currently attending Folsom Lake College, and am enrolled in Early Child Development classes! I have three younger siblings, a Saint Bernard, pitbull, toy poodle, two cats and two fish. I love animals and children, and have experience with quite the variety! During my Junior and Senior year of high school, I worked in a class of severely handicapped high school students, with disabilities ranging from severe Down Syndrome, to Cerebral Palsy. After graduating, I independently moved to Seattle, WA to dedicate a year to serving with the non-profit organization, City Year. During my ten month service, I worked with sixth graders who were at risk of not only failing their grade, but potentially dropping out of high school. I successfully tutored/mentored 12 of my 15 students by working one one one, in group sessions before, during, and after school. With hard work, I was able to help these at-risk youth from allowing external negative influences to permanently put them at a disadvantage. After returning to Folsom in June, I started working as a Behavior Therapist in August. My responsibilities included: maintaining a professional, yet friendly relationship with parents, communicating to supervisors any questions or concerns, and of course, providing social skills therapy for children on the Autism Spectrum. I hope that you've caught on to the fact that I absolutely love working with children, and intend on making it a permanent career. I'm very driven, honest, and friendly, and I'm pretty proud of my ability to communicate, especially since that's something that seems to be lacking in my generation! I have also had experience as a long-term babysitter while I was in high school, doing overnights and on-call services, helping with homework and extracurricular activities transportation. I have my own car, insurance, and am willing to care for children between 1-15! For tutoring, I am most comfortable in all subjects up through 6th grade. I am CPR/First Aid certified.
