I will keep it brief: I have 7 years of tutoring experience with students from ages 6 to 18. Subjects covered: – Math: Experience from Basic skills through Algebra Two. Worked for two years at Mathnasium Tutoring Center of San Clemente in Orange County. – Spanish: I have a Bachelor's degree in Spanish Language and Culture from Scripps College in Claremont, CA. I was a high school Spanish teacher from 2011 to 2013, and an elementary school Spanish teacher from 2013 to 2014. Each summer, I work as an adventure travel guide for high school students traveling to Latin American countries to live with local families and complete community service projects. – English: Taught high school English at Fusion Academy of Pasadena. Served as the English Department Head. – College Applications: Provide motivation and support throughout the application process. Help students to discover an original voice and generate a unique college essay. – Creative Writing: This is the fun one! I have always tutored a wide variety of students in Creative Writing. I have supported them as they work to create their own plays and short stories. I enjoy designing this tutoring session to meet the child's interests. This is a great form of tutoring for a child who may not enjoy writing and just needs to discover the type of writing that is fun for him or her. I write fiction myself. Currently, I am a graduate student in the Masters of Social Work program at USC. I left five years of teaching to become a social worker, but teaching and tutoring are one of my passions, and I would love to work with your child to help him or her achieve academic success.
