Tutor in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Please contact me if you are in need of skills work in English/Language Arts. I am highly qualified as a tutor for grades 7-12 in English/Language Arts as well as ACT/SAT prep in reading, writing, and vocabulary. As an educator, I highly value the one-on-one learning opportunities and the vast development seen in students that is so palpable when working as a tutor. I am available Monday-Friday from 5:00-9:00 p.m. as well as weekend mornings and afternoons. My competitive rate for tutoring runs as $40 for 30 minutes and $70 for 60 minutes. I am willing to meet at any public place in Center City, Fairmount, Old City, and University City, such as a library or coffee shop to work with individuals or even small groups. Currently, I am serving as a ninth grade literature and composition teacher at Doane Academy, an Episcopalian day school outside of Philadelphia. I earned a Masters of Science in Secondary English Education from the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education (3.9 GPA) and hold a BA in English literature with a minor in Humanities (3.6 GPA). I have worked with inner city students of Philadelphia as a college prep specialist and completed a full year of graduate research and student teaching at the nationally revered Julia R. Masterman, a public magnet school in Philadelphia.
