Tutor in Richmond Hill, Ontario

I'm an
Individual
I am an OCT certified teacher in the primary and junior divisions currently working as a supply in a school located in Richmond Hill. I have 4 years of tutoring experience and have worked for several large tutoring agencies. I have tutored a wide range of students (grades 3-11) and am confident in my ability to tutor all of the major subjects. Currently, my schedule is quite flexible and I am looking to take on several students who I can tutor regularly (on a weekly basis). I am looking to charge $25 per session and am flexible about the location of the lessons. If you are interested or have any additional questions feel free to contact me at 647 818 .... Thank you for your considerations. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Please find below my cover letter for additional information. Dear Sir/Madam: I am an OCT certified teacher and a former graduate of the University of Wollongong, NSW, Australia where I was enrolled in the Faculty of Education Primary and Junior Divisions. For my undergrad degree I graduated from the University of Guelph where I received my Bachelor of Arts Honours, majoring in Criminal Justice and Public Policy. This summer I extended my teaching qualification into the Intermediate division by completing the Health and Physical Education AQ course. Furthermore, I will be completing the Special Education Part 1 AQ course during the fall semester of 2014 to further my professional development. Recently, I have returned from teaching in London, England where I worked as an occasional teacher at various Primary Schools throughout the London area. While in England, I was given the opportunity to teach students with a wide variety of abilities between the ages of 6-11. This experience enabled me to grow as a person and a teacher. Through differentiation, implementation of the curriculum and established rapport with students I gained valuable experience this further inspired me to grow and improve as a lifelong learner as well as educator. Furthermore, over the past several years I have partaken in volunteer opportunities requiring leadership qualities and directly dealt with helping others, primarily kids, at the elementary school level. Based on my experiences I have learned many things that I feel can directly relate and implement within the teaching profession. Some of the valuable skills that I have had the opportunity to develop include: what it means to be an effective communicator, team leader and problem solver. Based on my experiences as a sports coach and teacher I believe that I have the skills to reach kids from various backgrounds, genders, and socio-economic statuses while instilling positive values in their life. While doing so, I have learned from them the importance of creating an inclusive environment and making accommodations and modifications to suit the array of abilities present. Through the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, Child Protection Awareness and my teaching experiences I have also become aware that there are different types of learners and that there are different styles of teaching that exist to compliment them. As result of these experiences, as an educator, I will strive to include adaptations for students with learning disabilities as well as students who are gifted. Thank you for your review and consideration of my resume. I look forward to speaking with you about this opportunity. Max Sereda
