I'm an
Individual
Hey everyone. I recently moved to Van from Ottawa and I'm building my clients back up again. :) I need my first Vancouver student! If you pick me, you’ll go down in the history books as the most awesome person! I care the most, I'm the most qualified, and I've been doing this long enough to consider myself a pro. I teach elementary, high school and university math. I teach fireman prep, police prep, actuarial prep, ACT/SAT prep, GRE prep, etc. Any test prep. For the future actuaries out there, I have exam P and FM completed. All sessions held at the Granville Island Office listed on this ad. Group classes are Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6pm to 8pm each night. You can come and go as you please. This is the only thing that I do professionally. I don't have another job, and I'm not just "doing this for side money". Teaching is my life. It's my passion. It's who I am! I literally wrote the book on tutoring. You can search for “Secrets of Tutoring” on amazon. That’s my book! I have taught approximately 500 students, for a combined 10,000 hours of instruction. I've taught hundreds of courses, and I'm constantly learning new material. Like I said, this is my life :) lol I've got a Masters degree in Math from Waterloo. I know a stupid amount of math. I write about math and about new ways to solve problems using geometry. If you are any of the following, you SHOULD DEFINITELY come with me: 1. You are doing terrible in math class but you never give up and need someone who cares 2. You love math, and are looking to be taught by someone who can mentor you 3. You want to see all the math that's coming in the next grade or year of university 4. You want to know what it's like to experience a teacher who is amazing and who loves their work 5. You can't stand the structure of class and you feel like it's working against you. You feel like you could be good at math, and are curious to see how good you actually are 6. You want to be pushed, and don't like the speed of regular class (usually it's too fast or too slow. For me, the regular classroom was too fast to fully grasp concepts!) 7. You're looking for a young (I'm 30) relatable teacher I have various services on my site. What I will suggest to every new client is the monthly subscription: -You get two hours a week of class time with me and my other students -It's $300/month which works out to about $30/hr -Bring in whatever you're working on in class and I'll take it from there -We focus on your classroom stuff first then I'll see what your interest are and develop those -Amazing learning environment filled with all the students in Vancouver who are pumped to learn and who are having fun doing it (this is what it will look like eventually. Right now I have very few students) -Since I'm new here, I have very few clients and so you're getting a $100/hr tutor essentially at $30/hr. I also do one on one sessions, and a mentorship program in which I assign specific projects and feature your work on my site. Great for students looking to get into specialty programs. Those are for students who are putting in serious time, and those prices are on my site. My company is Tall Guy Tutoring. Feel free to Google it. Texting or email is preferred.
