I'm an
Individual
Hello! My name is Mitchell and I could be a great tutor for you, your child, or whomever is in need of the extra help! I am a bright college graduate with a background in teaching and a personal history of academic excellence - and I would love to be able to use my own strengths to help you or your loved ones with extra learning assistance. Whether it's help with homework, strengthening specific school subjects, or providing supplemental practice - I can help enhance your learning efforts and direct you to better academic performance.
For younger students in high school or below, I can be of assistance in any subject! The majority of my teaching experience has in fact been with younger students.
That being said, I would also be happy to consider adult and/or college tutoring on a case-by-case basis as well! I am particularly good at editing and reviewing writing and have a strong natural ability in mathematics, as well as general test prep in any subject.
About myself and my background:
- I have a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development and a minor in Psychology, with extensive coursework in education psychology and childhood development
- I graduated with an average 3.8 GPA, meaning I earned straight A's throughout college
- As for prior schooling I also earned straight A's throughout high school and primary school
- I've always tested in the upper 90th percentile on standardized tests
- On the Graduate Readiness Exam (GRE) I scored in the 92nd percentile in Verbal Reasoning (English), the 93rd percentile in Analytical Writing, and the 80th percentile in Quantitative Reasoning (Math)
- I have prior work experience in various elementary schools and a child development center, meaning I am very used to (and good at!) working with young children
- I am also open to tutoring college students, if their needs fall within my own capabilities
- I do have a working proficiency in Spanish and could serve as an excellent guide and practice partner for beginners studying Spanish!
If you are interested in hiring me as a tutor, I would love to discuss the nature of your student's needs and see what I can do! Lastly, if requested, I would be happy to provide a copy of my resume, a list of references, and a letter of recommendation from a past professor/employer as well.
