My name is Shelly Todd. I have been happily married to my best friend and partner in crime (Rob) since 1985. We have 6 children between the ages of 29 and 16, and one 8 year old grandson. I am a certified in the Montessori Method, and have an associates degree. I have been teaching in a Montessori setting for 15 years and home schooled in a traditional setting for about 7 years. I am certified in CPR for adults and children. I am passionate about learning and teaching. My desire is for each of my students to become excited and self motivated about learning; as well as confident in their new found skills/understanding. My style of teaching is " no nonsense" as well as fun, and grounded in respect. I cater to the student's learning style and personality. Teaching a child to read is my specialty. I am able to develop an individualized program for my student, as well as keep them current in whatever is being taught at school. I also enjoy teaching the mechanics of writing as well as helping the child to communicate well through writing. I am confident in teaching math, geography, life science and physical science to elementary students. I welcome the opportunity to make learning something your child looks forward to.
