I recently graduated with two interdisciplinary B.A.s from U.C. Santa Cruz (yes, Magnum Laude from a top-ranking university). I'm currently applying to Ph.D programs which I would begin next Fall (2017). I just moved to Brooklyn from Los Angeles and looking to help a family with their tutoring needs long or short-term. I have been tutoring and mentoring students for academic success for 8 years in various environments. My experience ranges from K.-Higher Ed., but my preference is for students in grades 7th-11th. I have tutored both at centers, in student's private homes and local libraries and I am very reliable. What makes me an especially attractive tutor for many, however, is my range. I have tutored English up to A.P. levels, math especially Algebra I, II and Geometry, Spanish up to A.P. and conversational, Biology and History. I'm also trained in SAT prep and college readiness. Lastly, what matters to me is student success. I am meticulous about organization as I believe this is a key to success at the university and in life and like to instill confidence in my students. Additionally, students find me to be a great tutor who takes time to explain difficult concepts with ease and empathy. My students know that I am invested in them learning concepts thoroughly and not just rehearsing for tests.
