Tutor in Austin, Texas
I'm an
Individual
I am a retired professor who has taught for many decades the German language and literature. I have also written extensively about modern Germany, since WWII, and especially about the later decades of the 20th century. I would be delighted to either tutor beginning/intermediate students or discuss any topic with more advanced speakers. I have a special way of familiarizing learners and would be delighted to assist you.
I am retired and view this as a labor of love, as a way of putting my desires and experience to good ends in order to help other people who might want to broaden their horizons. We could do German for travel, for business, or just for pleasure. Telephone is preferred over emailing due to my broken wrist.
I should mention that my work is not limited to German. I have also taught in a wide range of fields including history, political science, sociology, Latin American studies, cultural studies, and European studies. I have also written books on crimes against human rights, techniques of interviewing and a diversity of related subjects. My first loves are literature and history, but I like to relate these other fields too.
