Welcome, my name is Juan Alfonso, I am offering my services as a English, writing, journalism, creative writing and literary analysis tutor to high school, college students and professionals who want to improve their writing skills in Miami Dade County. Qualifications: I served as a U.S. Marine Corps Combat Correspondent (journalist), from 2005 to 2013. During that time, i served as an editor and bureau chief for the Okinawa Marine News Paper from 2006-200..., where i earned first place in the 2007 Combat Correspondent's Association Awards in the category of Editorial Writing. From 2008- 20..., i worked as the editor and web publisher for the Marine Forces Pacific Website. While living in New York, i worked as the magazine editor, web publisher and social media manager for the 1st Marine Recruiting District from 2011-201.... Since leaving the military i have continued to engross myself in writing projects, earning me "A"s in all of collegiate English and creative writing courses. Skills: Journalistic Writing, Creative Writing, MLA Style, AP Style, teaching, mentoring, literary analysis. Rates. High School Students: $10 an hour. High School AP Students: $15-20 an hour depending on the the curriculum. Undergraduate Students: $30 an hour. Will negotiate with professionals seeking to improve their writing skills based on the coursework discussed.
