My name is Haley and I'm seeking a meaningful tutoring role where I can support students as they work to achieve their goals. I have two years of teaching experience and a strong love for the learning process. My role as an educator taught me how unique each learner is and how crucial it is to inspire a lifelong love for learning. I focus on real results that will bring meaning and value to a learner. Young and old, we often are expected to learn things we cannot find use for, and I'm committed to unraveling some of this mystery and highlighting the amazing value of learning all sorts of skills and concepts. Teaching our brains to function in different ways offers great problem solving skills and nurtures a highly prized creativity that applies to any future endeavor. I'm a strong believer in learning from mistakes and never giving up. I hope to find ways to instill a positive attitude in learners. Developing patience with the process and with ourselves is a great place to build the skills toward achievement. I recently completed a two-year commitment serving as a corps member with Teach For America. As a corps member, I led my classroom with the passion of TFA's mission to close the achievement gap. My role as an educator with TFA has allowed me to experience the tremendous fulfillment of teaching and tutoring. I committed myself to generate sustainable solutions in my classroom through partnerships and collaboration. I advocated for my students and my community and looked for ways to make learning a joyful experience. With the responsibility of augmenting achievement in my classroom, I saw the importance of setting high expectations for myself and for my students. I look forward to building strong relationships with students to help them achieve their goals. I am confident I can help students in a variety of subjects including English Language Arts, Reading, Writing, Literature, Science, Math, Social Studies, Public Speaking and Presentation skills, and more.
