Tutor in Victoria, British Columbia

I'm an experienced tutor living in Victoria, B.C. I worked for four years as a tutor for students at my local french immersion elementary school. I am fluent in French, and passionate about instilling a love of the language in my students. I have also covered topics of math, science, history, and English, including a special program with one of my older students introducing and working with her on spoken word poetry and public speaking. I believe in working collaboratively with parents and teachers to clarify goals, and involving the student in determining what they want out of tutoring. I am a strong communicator, planner, and teacher. My students have consistently surpassed their goals and become determined and invested in their studies. At UVic I'm currently studying Health and Community Services with a focus in disability advocacy, but have also taken education courses in math and earth and ocean sciences. I also have experience with the classics, modernist literature and contemporary poetry as an avid english literature reader and sometimes-student. Above all, I'm a passionate learner, and I want to share that with my students.
