I'm a 27 year old Software Engineer with experience as a TA at UofT for Math, Calculus and Computer Science courses as well as actively participated in mentorship programs. I also help out my wife (who's a teacher) with her work and this has helped me keep up to date with coursework that students face in the highschool arena. I'm adept at tutoring for the following topics: - Mathematics, Calculus (up to Grade 12 / 1st year university-level) - Computer Science & Programming (up to Grade 12 / university-level) - Sciences [Physics/Chemistry] (up to Grade 12) - Economics - English/ESL I approach tutoring with a very straightforward principle: teach according to the individual's capacity. Every person has their strengths and weaknesses, and often, they're more likely to pick up on subject matter that they like. Sometimes you need to use more imagery (ever wonder why students sometimes doodle). Sometimes you need to isolate the tutee from distractions (and sometimes you don't) so that they can focus. Many times they just need good old practice and repetition. I strive to work alongside your children in their studies - it's not about just going over coursework material, but to help them learn how to think and how to learn. Meeting arrangements are either at the public library or at the tutee's residence. There is also a pricing discount for more than one tutee in the same session (maximum 5). Available weekdays after 6 pm and weekends.
