I am a passionate educator who has spent the last decade working in education. I am currently available for one-on-one tutoring in your home or at a public location. I am competent in teaching all core high school curricula. Moreover, I am skilled in teaching a number of specialty subjects--including specific Advanced Placement (AP) courses, Studio Art, and Art History. I am a fluent in both written and oral Spanish and have a basic working knowledge of other romance languages such as Latin, French, Portuguese, and Italian. Most recently, I tutored students individually on their written work and edited college papers. One of my strengths is in helping students improve the quality of their grammar, sentence structure, and research practices. I have taught in settings as diverse as the South Bronx and the Philippines. This rich collection of experiences has allowed me to work with students of all backgrounds and abilities. As a result, I possess patience, cross-cultural understanding, and creative problem solving capabilities-- skills that I believe are essential for ensuring that each student achieves scholastic success. I graduated in the top 1% of my high school class, and attended top-ranked undergraduate and graduate institutions. I am also a Fulbright Scholar. I am outgoing and dedicated to my students. I am available to tutor in the evenings and weekends, and I have the flexibility to work with your schedule.
