Specializing in pre-K through 6th grade students. I have over 35 years of teaching experience. I am a retired music teacher from the Shawnee Mission School District. My degrees are Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and Music Therapy, Master’s degree in Reading Eduction and a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction Higher Education. I specialize in early education, teaching children to read, reading comprehension and development of curriculum specific to your child’s needs. I will incorporate music into the tutoring session. I have done an extensive amount of research on the effects of music on learning including my doctoral dissertation. All of my research has confirmed my hypothesis of the positive correlation between music and reading, math and spacial reasoning. I would love to talk to you about your child. Tutoring sessions are 1 hour in length once a week (we can do more if your student needs the extra support). I tutor in my home. Tutoring tuition is $50 per hour.
