My name is Austin, I am 24-years-old, and I have worked as a private tutor for the last 4 years. I tutor ages 12 and up, from middle school through college. The subjects I teach include all levels of math through many college courses including Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus I, II, & II, as well as math for standardized admissions tests such as the ISEE, ACT, SAT, and GRE. I also teach several science subjects including physics, geology, and earth science, as well as the science sections of standardized admissions tests. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology with a minor in Math from Centenary College in Shreveport, LA and am currently finishing my Master of Science degree in Geophysics from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL where I spent the last 2 years. My experience includes working as a private contract tutor for Varsity Tutors, tutoring for Sylvan Learning, tutoring for the math departments at both Centenary and SIU, and working as the lead teaching assistant for many sections of college algebra at SIU as a graduate assistant. I am willing to travel to your home depending on the distance and am also willing to meet at a public place e.g. a library, Starbucks. I typically charge $40/hour depending on the subject and the distance traveled, and I'm sure you will find that my price is very affordable for the tutoring services I provide in a large city such as Houston.
