Tutor in Denver, Colorado

I'm an
Individual
Hey! My name is Bob K, and I'm one of Denver's premiere ACT tutors. I graduated from Harvard in 2010 with a degree in Chemistry and a minor in Spanish, and I have twice scored a perfect 36 on the ACT (see pictures for proof). Furthermore, I have tutored dozens of students for the ACT in the past 2 years, and they have seen an average score increase of over 3 points. I would love to help your junior or sophomore prepare for an upcoming ACT and surpass his or her goal scores! *The Other Half of the Equation* While knowing what it takes to get a 36 and graduating from a premiere college are certainly helpful credentials, they are only half the story. The ability to teach involves more than intelligence or command of the material, and excelling at it requires a passion to connect and empathize with students. With my open and engaging personality, I love helping students learn unfamiliar or downright difficult material. In fact, it is my greatest pleasure to see the smile on a student's face when he or she finally understands a tricky problem and sees exactly how to do it in the future; that experience is one I strive for each session! In fact, here is the perfect example of why I love to tutor. The following is a text message I received after the release of a student's ACT scores: "Bob!!!!! I got a 30 on the ACT!!!!!! Thank you for everything! I honestly could not have done it without you. My English score skyrocketed and omg this is the best day/night of my life! It was amazing opening the score and seeing that number! I'm very proud of my English though because that was my weakest subject for forever and it ended up being one of my best scores. It's just incredible. I still can't believe it!" How could you get texts like that and not love to tutor? *Professional ACT Tutor for a Fraction of the Cost of Profit-Driven Tutoring Outfits* I have undertaken professional ACT training within the last 3 years, but I charge less than half the price of a professional course. I firmly believe that you don't need to pay $2,000-$3... (and up!) for your student to get a great score on the exam. Unfortunately, this is the average that big corporations and profit-centered tutoring companies are charging: http://....com= Even online tutoring can cost OVER $6000! http://....com But there is another way: Connect with a local tutor who has the flexibility to work with your student in the way he or she needs, has no overhead costs, is a Harvard graduate, AND has twice achieved the highest possible score on the ACT. *What to Expect* Once you call, text, or email me, I'll respond as soon as possible asking a few questions about your student's familiarity with the exam, strengths and weaknesses, and goals (both with the ACT and for college). From there, we'll discuss the best plan of action. Typically, for students who are unfamiliar with the exam or are looking for big score improvements, I recommend a longer tutoring plan (12-16 hours). For students who are already familiar with the test or are confident in their knowledge, I recommend fewer hours (6-10 hours). I prefer meeting in libraries that are mutually convenient for both the student and me. All your student needs to bring is a calculator for math sections, a pen or pencil, and some scrap paper; I'll provide practice problems and give official ACT practice tests. In addition, I offer unlimited access by phone or text for when students have questions/concerns or need extra help with practice problems they are working on at home--I have yet to find a company that provides this service without charging exorbitantly for it. *This Is What I Love to Do* For me, tutoring is more than just a job; it is my passion. In my mind, the role of a tutor goes far beyond merely throwing out bits of knowledge and hoping something sticks; instead, tutors must find the best way to share relevant knowledge so that each individual student can best understand the material. I take pride in serving as a guide for students and giving them the tools and confidence they need to do well on their own, which is of utmost importance because, at the end of the day, my students must take the test on their own. So please email, call, or text me to get your student started conquering the ACT! I truly look forward to helping your son or daughter get ahead in life through this 3-hour test. *Upcoming Test Dates* 2/6 (Final registration deadline: 1/15) 4/9 (Final registration deadline: 3/18) *Testimonials* "Before receiving tutoring from you, algebra seemed like such a difficult task, but your explanations, patience, and encouragement made it so much easier. Thank you so much for your help."--Gracie & Rachel from Monument (Rachel passed with flying colors her GED math exam after meeting with me!) "I wasn't sure what the ACT was going to be like, and when I saw my first practice test, I was definitely worried. Bob helped me understand what to expect on test day so I could put my knowledge to use without fear. I got a 31 on the test, which is AWESOME since I was only expecting a 24! I can't thank Bob enough!"--Steven, Senior at Cherry Creek High School "We took a practice test in school, and I didn't do well. I felt distracted and unsure of myself all the time. Plus I ran out of time on every section (even math, which is my strongest subject in school). I told my mom about it, and we decided that a tutor would help me because I felt stressed about the test. Bob and I worked together for a full month before I took the real test. He was very patient with me, and I could tell he really cared about whether I did well and whether I understood the material. In the end, I did much better than I did on that practice test! It's a good feeling, and I even got into my school of choice, CU!"--Benjamin, Senior at Denver East High School *PS* I also tutor for the SAT, Chemistry, AP Chemistry, Algebra, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, AP Calculus, Physics, AP Physics, and Spanish. So ask if you are looking for help in those areas, too!
