Roxbury Prep is currently seeking to hire Homework Help Tutors who have experience working with middle school students and who are enthusiastic about helping us in our mission to close the academic achievement gap. Homework Help tutors assist students in understanding and correctly completing homework assignments. Tutors will provide effective academic and organizational support, and encourage students to develop discipline, self-confidence, awareness of self and others, and a sense of responsibility. Tutors will teach students to enjoy and be passionate about learning. Tutors should emphasize the importance of working hard to obtain their goal: college. Roxbury Prep is a middle school and serves scholars of diverse backgrounds. Homework Help meets Monday and Fridays at 4:00 to 5:15 and Wednesdays from 1:00 to 3:00pm. Homework Help Tutors at Roxbury Prep work with a group of 1 – 4 students for several hours a week from September to June. Teaching certification is not required.
