Hello there, I am offering my services as a private tutor for children between kindergarten and Grade 5. If your child is in need of one-on-one assistance with his or her schoolwork, I would love to come alongside and lend that support. I have seven years of experience babysitting and nannying for a variety of families with children of all ages. In addition, I have tutored students in kindergarten through Grade 2, which involved planning and teaching lessons based on the public school curriculum. I also contribute semi-regularly to an award-winning magazine based in Grande Prairie, and have done some editing and revision for a distance-learning organization. I am familiar with the Alberta curriculum, but as a homeschool graduate, I am also well acquainted with a variety of different curriculums and methods. I have taken a diverse assortment of post-secondary courses, ranging from the topics of 'Migrants and Refugees in Education' to project management and First World War history courses. I am comfortable teaching any of the four core subjects, with English Language Arts and Social Studies being of particular interest to me. If you are simply looking for someone to aid your child in his or her homework, I have a flexible schedule that could be tailored to your needs. If you are worried about your child falling behind due to the irregular school schedule, I would provide lessons that would both build on what has already been learned, and prepare them for the coming school year. Finally, if in-person tutoring is not what you are looking for, but you feel that your child could benefit from reading books that are both enlightening and captivating, look no further. Having a collection of over 650 books (mostly children 's) in my personal library, and being a regular at the public library as well, I am well-versed in the world of children's books.
