GCS Tutoring Services works with families to find out why your child is having difficulty in school. We tutor Kindergarten through Six Grades in math, science, writing, reading, and social studies. We implement current Research Based Methods and offer formative and summative assesments as part of our services. We set goals together and approach your child's education in a systematic manner. What goals are we trying to reach ? How are we going to reach them ? An Individual Academic Success Plan will be created for your child, so we can track progress after benchmarks are set. "I have been teaching for 23 years, and taught in three different school districts. I have also taught regular and special education. I believe that learning should be fun, and also that every child can learn and apply academic content ". We teach chidren to learn concepts through scaffolding. Whether it's Problem-Based Learning or Phonemic Awareness in reading, we focus on important learning concepts, and most important how your child learns best. Our lesson plans focus on the quality of learning concepts not quantity. We will reinforce what concepts the classroom teacher is teaching. Our rates are $17.99 an hour.
