Tutor Job in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Hi, I am a self employed woodcarver, wood turner, and CNC programmer/operator. I have a small studio in East Greenville, PA. I recently acquired ZBrush software as well as a UGEE 2150 drawing tablet. My intention is to bring all Digital model production needed for CNC machining in house. I have done some modeling using EnRoute Pro software with decent success, but that program is not capable to do the very complex models I need from time to time. In the past I have contracted that type of work out to Vector Art 3D in Canada, or 3D model club out of Hong Kong. The immediate focus is a group of classical carvings for an armoire, including roses and sunflowers, vines, acanthus leaves, etc. After going through several tutorials on the Pixologic site, I have come to the conclusion that the "trial and error" method is going to take way to long. I need the help of an experienced digital artist who is very familiar with the ZBrush software program. I have little to no interest in learning animation, and do not need to "paint" models. All solid models created would be exported as an STL file for machining. I am thinking 2-3 hours per week initially, for a couple of months, then scaling that back as my abilities grow. I have no idea what this service would cost. I assume an hourly charge. Salary is negotiable. Start date would be immediate. I think initially, in person sessions would be most beneficial, however, online sessions after a couple weeks may be okay as well. I am willing to travel to your location, or reimburse you for costs to travel to me. Whatever works, just need to get moving on this. The job I need to work on is "sold", and actual carving work to begin within the next month. Thank you for your attention.
