Tutor for Person with Disability Jason is a man with brain injuries, (from a 1999 pedestrian-automobile accident). He is friendly, eager to learn and has a sense of humour. Jason has a long-term Rehab & Care Program based on Neuroplasticity, the ability of the brain to form or reorganize neural connections in response to learning and repeated experience. The Program has eight modules. Jason has made steady and significant progress in his speech, motor, cognitive and social abilities. He is computer literate and can work on computer-based learning and rehab programs. He lives alone, with support, in his own condo for 16 years. We need a coach / tutor to help Jason improve his cognitive abilities: reading, discussion, reasoning, problem solving. We use stories, radio news, computer games, television shows, card games. The objective is to stimulate the mind and enjoy the work This is an interesting opportunity for a student aiming to make a career in the Teaching or Health Care professions. Over the past 16 years, many university students have worked with Jason. We normally pay $20 per hour but will consider your qualification and experience for a higher rate. We set goals and review progress. We follow Provincial COVID-19 rules and guidelines. Our policy is to require each team member to be fully vaccinated as soon as eligible.
