arc is an after-school and experiential education provider brand new to the San Diego area. Our mission is to “bridge the opportunity gap” by creating transformational learning opportunities that empower youth to realize their full potential. We are in the process of opening 10 after-school sites throughout San Diego, and are currently looking for tutors to work with us towards making a difference in students' lives. We have many open positions to tutor High School students at each of our ten high school sites: Madison, San Diego High, Twain, Point Loma, Serra, Clairemont, Lincoln, Hoover, Mission Bay, and Morse. Tutoring with arc provides great experience and an excellent way to cultivate teaching skills, as well as experiences you can’t find in the classroom. We are looking for tutors available to work on a part time basis, 4-5 days a week during after-school/afternoon hours. Responsibilities: Tutor subject(s) with a customized and flexible approach. Subjects include: Math, English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Spanish Assist students with homework, test prep, and coursework Support in building our students’ skill sets and acting as a mentor and role model What we a€™re looking for: Energetic, positive attitudes, and a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of youth Three positive references Prior experience tutoring or teaching a plus, but not required Good study habits and organizational skills Pay rate: $10-$25/hr depending on education and experience We are looking forward to the possibility of working with you!
