While now undertaking a major in mechanical engineering at the University of Alberta (fourth year), I have also completed several advanced math courses, including proof based real analysis. Mathematics has always been an exciting and fulfilling personal challenge, and I will continue to enroll in such demanding courses whenever possible to satisfy this passion. Ultimately, it is my goal to attain a degree in higher level math in addition to the engineering. Throughout my latter high school years, and during the first few years of University, my grades in math have always been outstanding. Over this period, I engaged myself with growing regularity as an enthusiastic mentor for students in need of assistance with their math studies. In this regard, I feel I have developed a fair proficiency in conveying difficult concepts to others in ways that reinforce their confidence and mastery of the subject matter. Perhaps this ability to teach and guide others came after several years as a karate instructor. Proficient in various fields of mathematics, both abstract and computational, including: - Single and multivariable real analysis (Proof based single and multivariable calculus) - Proof based linear algebra (both computational and abstract) - Ordinary and partial differential equations - Complex variable calculus - Group theory - Ring theory - Basic topology and measure theory - Basic statistics Currently doing research on the in-compressible Navier-Stokes equations, as well as post furnished solutions to complex mathematical problems posted on the math help website “Math Stack Exchange” (personal profile link: https://....com).
