Foremost I should give you a background of my skills and the person I am. My name is Matthew Spence-I'm a recent graduate from MECPS in Brooklyn, NY. I'm pursuing a career in education and will be attending Kingsborough Community College for the incoming fall semester. Experience and Qualifications My mother and my aunt (who raised me) both are teachers. My mother started off in early childhood education then moved up to high school education, then education of those with mental disabilities. My aunt teaches early childhood. While attending Democracy Prep Charter School I was part of the MATHCOUNTS team and lead the school to city finals which we unfortunately lost to Hunter College High School. In high school, I tutored kids that were behind in Physics, Trigonometry, Geometry, Language Arts, Writing and Chemistry. I have much love for education and helping those strengthen their academic skills. I recently took a NYS department of education test certifying me to be an assistant teacher in early childhood education. Passing that test also certified me to tutor.
