Tutor Job in Los Angeles, California

Hello! We seek a wonderful fit with an afternoon tutor\sitter for our family of four with two well-behaved and fun children (ages 10 and 13). We live in the Miracle Mile area (near San Vicente & Hauser). General hours are Monday -- Friday 2:30pm -- 6:30pm (~15 -- 17 hours per week). Academic guidance is the primary focus -- tutor\sitter must be able to constructively support children with 5th and 8th grade homework as well as be compassionately firm to keep children on task. Previous tutoring, teaching or mentoring experience strongly desired. Also requires dropping children to after-school activities: fencing, soccer, piano (parents generally do the pick up). Must own a car. School (daughter) and bus stop (son) are walking/biking distance from home. There is a well maintained bike at the house for your use. But biking not mandatory for the position. Applicant must have a minimum of 2 years of college, strong academic performance, highly dependable and punctual (to catch the school bus), yet fun, warm and sincerely able to be attentive. Enjoys being active and outdoors -- would be nice but not mandatory. Must be excellent communicator with children and parents.
