Education M.A. in Mathematical Statistics from Wayne State University, M.S. in Applied Mathematics from Carnegie Mellon University, and PhD. in Industrial Engineering from University of Pittsburgh. Experience Had taught as an instructor at Mathematics Departments in various universities, domestic (Temple University) and abroad (several universities in Taiwan) for 8 years, Had been a TA at Mathematics Departments in several U.S. universities for several years, Has tutored many freshmen and sophomore students from Pitt and CMU for 3 years. Availability Sessions are usually given mainly on Pitt/CMU campus, but other locations in Oakland and Shadyside can also be arranged, during Weekday afternoons and weekends with some flexibility. Goal & Features My goal of providing this service is to help students understand the material, complete homework assignments and prepare for exams in the above listed courses in exchange for a reasonable compensation. Usually after receiving my tutoring for a few weeks or months, students can see their grades improved, and I enjoyed helping them achieve their goals in school. Rates I only charge $20/hr for Pre-Calculus-like courses, $25/hr for Calculus & Linear Algebra, and $30/hr for more advanced courses.
