I have been a teaching for over 20 years. First as an Artist in the Schools at the elementary school level integrating creative writing and theater arts to train students to recognize and interpret text via metaphor and symbolism. Then as a visiting professor in universities nationwide instructing students to integrate new perspectives and respect for their own life stories. For the past six years, I have tutored both one-on-one and in afterschool learning centers. By providing effective classroom management customized lesson plans, detailed student evaluations and highly praised instructional delivery, I have successfully increased test scores and GPA for scholars universally. I am passionate in my commitment maximizing individual student performance, and instilling a sense of self-worth among all students as my enclosed resume will attest. My qualifications include 12 years of elementary teaching experience, a BA degree in English Literature and Dramaturgy, numerable award-winning publications, and certifications for specialized training in Regent, College and CCLS test preparation.
