Michael Nash spent 40 years in higher education as a professor, department chair (Theatre), dean and chief academic officer. In 2010 he chose to "semi-retire," moved with his wife Janice to Maine (in 2014), and founded Nash Educational Consulting to provide college counseling and tutoring services. As a tutor, Dr. Nash is particularly effective in developing effective analytical and expository writing skills, and in working with young actors (his particular area of specialization, as a theatre director with more than 100 productions in both professional and educational arenas). His doctoral research in France and his work in theatre in Belgium left him fluent in French, and his PhD in Theatre and Drama makes him an effective tutor for students in English and History. Finally, Michael's deep knowledge of the college admissions process comes from years of work with admissions programs at four different institutions. (At two of them the admissions team reported to him as a senior administrator.) He can be an effective partner in assisting a student and his/her family in identifying the best possible list of application schools, then navigating the admissions process (including preparation of effective application materials, preparing for interviews, applying for financial aid, etc.).
