My name is Nikesh Patel, and I am a recent graduate of Berkeley Law. I currently work for the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. In 2010, I graduated from Stanford University with a BA in American Studies, and then received my MSc. in Migration Studies from Oxford University. I have multiple years of teaching summer school to students between 6th and 12th grade in subjects ranging from Algebra I and II, SSAT Math, Verbal, and Reading, SAT Math, Writing, and Reading, SAT II Math I, and English. I particularly enjoy, and have been successful in, helping students develop an organized and analytical approach to their writing. Additionally, I have spent countless hours helping my nieces, nephews, and family friends write middle school and college application essays to schools ranging from the Menlo School to UCLA to Cambridge University. Ultimately, I value the opportunity to teach young people. I enjoy pushing them to develop good habits and recognize that they are often far more capable than they give themselves credit for. In much of the feedback I have received over the years, one them is common: my students find me to be frustrating at times, but always fair and motivational.
