I am currently a PhD graduate student at a local university studying statistics and social sciences. I have a strong background in Biology and related life sciences. My passion is one-on-one tutoring, especially in reading and study skills. I have over 10 years of experience helping students of all ages with various school tasks such as homework assignments, class projects, research papers and more. I am mature, responsible and dependable. I do in-home visits. Tutoring sessions are typically scheduled for an hour. If more time is needed I am very flexible to accommodate your child's needs. I view my role as a helper to students and their families. As such, I am willing to meet your student's needs however often they need. I develop academic strategies to improve student self-sufficiency. My five year plan is to finish my dissertation in the next two years and get a job as a professor at my university. I currently teach Interpersonal relationships and Families and enjoy seeing my students view the world in a new way. I strongly encourage self-learning and mentoring as they make their way through the class. My door is always open for student who need to talk. I spend my free time reading and writing my dissertation thesis. I love animals and have one cat named Zelda. I volunteer at the humane society working with cats and dogs to socialize them so they have a better chance of being adopted. I love to be outside and hike with my husband. I also love horses and ride regularly.
