Former English teacher/current student working towards a Reading Specialist degree, willing to come to your home/library/public location to tutor you or your child in all levels of Reading/Writing, and with English literature/composition. Qualifications: - High school/middle school English teacher for ten years - PALS Reading Tutor for Kindergarten/First Grade for three years. - Currently working towards my Reading Specialist degree from University of Virginia - Master of Teaching degree from Virginia Commonwealth University - Bachelor of English degree from Virginia Tech I have tutored students in all subjects. I've worked with all ages, and I've found that I enjoy that diversity. I have three years of tutoring experience on top of my classroom teaching experience. I miss teaching, but I love working with students one-on-one and doubt if I will ever be able to go back to the teacher-student ratio of 1:30 I've had in some classrooms. Now that my family and I have returned to Roanoke, I'd love the opportunity to work with students here.
