I am a credentialed teacher with a Master’s Degree in Education. Since beginning my career in 1982 I have developed a passion and specialization for helping children improve their reading. I am trained in the Barton Reading and Spelling System which is an Orton-Gillingham approach to teaching reading and spelling. It is supported by independent scientific research and teaches to the Common Core State Standards. Most importantly it is a multi-sensory, kinesthetic and phonics based system of instruction recommended for children with learning differences and dyslexia. Having a strong foundation in reading and spelling improves a child’s self-esteem and results in grade increases in all subjects. I am deeply committed to helping children reach their full potential.
