Gate Hill Day Camp, a family owned, 33 acre, private day camp, near Harriman State park, is seeking talented and enthusiastic individuals to become our camp tutors for 2 weeks of the 2015 summer season! As the summer quickly approaches, we are starting to seek talented, enthusiastic and experienced tutors for our 2015 SPARKS program! We are looking for candidates interested in becoming a part of our personalized tutoring program, that is collaboratively designed for each child by his/her parents, teachers and SPARKS tutors. The SPARKS tutor will spend a designated number of sessions per week with their campers, each session lasting 30 minutes a piece. Core Responsibilities: 1. Managing age and academic appropriate sessions with each camper. 2. Manage SPARKS learning materials provided by Gate Hill Day Camp. Ex: books, workbooks, worksheets, writing materials, electronic devices, etc... 3. Creating a creative, fun and learning environment with a collaboration of different learning techniques and materials. 4. Time management within creating the structure of SPARKS lesson planning and academic goals of each camper and their families. 5. Outside research and lesson plan development that’s designed to help our active campers maintain their academic skills Availability/Commitment: -Monday - Thursday from August 10th - August 21st (2 weeks) -TBD: Staff Orientation Training Compensation/Exchange: -$competitive -Hours: 9 AM - 3:30 PM -Additional pay provided for corporate events, camp shows & picnics and pre-camp work (negotiable)
