Do you have experience with secondary school students and are you looking for an opportunity to make a difference? I'm currently seeking an experienced tutor to help our 17 year old son complete one or more Grade 11 credits following a medical episode which paused his school year. Grade 11 English would be our first course to complete. He will be completing online courses at home and we would appreciate assistance, in our home, with brainstorming, understanding assessment criteria, and keeping him on track while he completes his assignments. One of his parents would be home during most of his tutoring sessions. As a resident of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, I am willing to pay $40.0 per hour for private tutoring sessions. We will be interviewing candidates from January 8 onwards; we would like him to start his coursework as of January 13, 2025. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of English grammar, writing, and reading comprehension. We value patience, flexibility, and the ability to follow the instructions as laid out by the online course. As a tutor, your role will be to provide assistance with the completion of coursework, understanding assessment criteria, and help our son build confidence as he returns to academic study. He is an excellent thinker but would benefit from an “elbow partner” to keep him on track. We would be interested in booking three hour-long morning sessions each week (ideally, Tuesday & Wednesday & Thursday) as a means of ensuring he takes a structured approach to completing his online courses.
