I have been tutoring for six years now and I have developed many methods of studying, effective note-taking strategies, and accelerated learning that has helped many, including myself and my younger brother. These techniques are not taught anywhere else. I will teach you how to master your class now and in the future, and I will teach you how to learn effectively. You will go from hating math just as I did, and everyone else around you does, to understanding why so many others find it easy and accessible. I have done extensive studies on Leonardo DaVinci, a renaissance man who had mastered the art of learning in every science and art imaginable. A lot of my strategies are based on his work... 1. Description. 2. Pricing. 3. Policy. --- A quick review of (some) of the strategies that I offer: Expressive Visual note-taking strategies teaches you to take notes similar to how Leonardo DaVinci. This involves using images to represent ideas and rewiring the brain to think in terms of a broader perspective. The mind originally thinks in terms of images, which is why it learns best when we use that as its natural language. Trust me when I say that by thinking in this new way you will master your mind's ability to think in a more abstract space, which is essential for memory, visualization, and understanding deep and complex concepts with a single wordless thought. Increasing the mind's capacity for memorization. Memorization is very important for effortless learning. My brother was a very poor learner, but he had mastered the ability to simply memorize what was being taught to him and he quickly became famous for having a "photographic memory". This was due to the way in which I described to him my method of thinking. He always listened to me when I spoke, and inadvertently I taught him a new way to think which made learning for him a breeze. It required nearly no work on his end, and the transition was seamless. This was simply a small part of the major strategy that he employed, and he turned his GPA around with this one simple piece of the major whole. Decreasing the mind's aversion to numbers and complex ideas. When I was in High School I had simply chosen to become better at math at some point. When I did that, I went from barely knowing my multiplication table to ranking 4th best in the State in a national competition for mathematics. However, I remember very clearly what it was like to see a problem and become afraid very quickly. By applying these concepts to your deep memory through of our simple memory training techniques, numbers and story problems will feel more silly to you than anything. Mathematics will be something that you create yourself, rather than fear. ---- Pricing: I am offering tutoring for a limited time at $20/hr. In the past I have offered personal tutoring at $60/hr and higher. Right now I am featuring this special price because I need money quickly and I am willing to go low. As demand increases, however, I may raise the price on new members. Though if you start at $20/hr I will ALWAYS only charge you that amount. I will never raise the price on someone who is already being tutored. Keep in mind this price is NEGOTIABLE. If you cannot afford $20/hr please contact me and we can work something out for your specific case. --- Policy: We will meet at a group room in Sangren Hall on WMU's campus. I request this for our first meeting. If you have another public location then feel free to suggest it and send me the address. I will not visit your home until after our third meeting.
