Tutor in Saint James, New York

I have worked as a tutor both independently and through agencies, with much experience in social studies, science, and math. I have a law degree and a bachelor of science degree in physical education from Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, and a master of arts degree in liberal studies with an accent in health from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. I have permanent New York State certification in both health and physical education, and I intend to have my credentials evaluated with regard to getting certified to teach social studies. My rate is $40 for a one-hour session and is discounted for additional hours. I was an adapted physical education teacher at The Center for Developmental Disabilities in Woodbury, New York, and a permanent substitute teacher at Newfield High School in Selden, New York, where I was actually an auxiliary physical education teacher, assisting other physical education teachers with their classes, and a health teacher, having been assigned my own health class in the middle of the school year. I have been a substitute teacher in Middle Country, Hauppauge, Sachem, Smithtown, Kings Park, Port Jefferson, Comsewogue, Connetquot, Elwood, and Eastport-South Manor school districts. Included in this experience are long-term assignments in health, in Smithtown in 1987, and in physical education, in Middle Country in 1988, the latter of which included teaching elementary adapted physical education. In addition, I have 17 years' experience as a football coach at levels ranging from junior high school through college, including four years as an assistant coach at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
