Tutor in Toronto, Ontario

I am a performing artist/musician/theatre creator with extensive teaching experience, looking to pick some up tutoring work as well! I graduated from New York University with a BFA in Theatre, with a focus on the creation of original work. I am a working artist, and I have been a Shakespeare teacher for several years, creating and facilitating curricula that lead to comprehension through super fun and active performance work. Throughout my years as a teaching artist, I have also taught and directed formal drama classes (ages 5 and up: acting, musical performance, and writing for the theatre), as well as middle school writing classes. So, evident from my background, I am a very strong tutor in drama, Shakespeare, literature, reading, writing, music, music theory, and performance. I am very familiar with these subjects, and would happily tutor any of them up to an AP/IB level. I'd be very happy to discuss private lessons as well (acting, singing, flute)! My personal interests include several school subjects which I would be happy to tutor. I am a huge history and art history buff (considering a masters degree in one of these topics), and would love to tutor either of these or geography/social studies up to and including AP/IB. In high school and university, I was also a private tutor for middle school chemistry and math. I was the valedictorian of my high school class, and a very strong university student, so I am very studied in/comfortable with all typical middle and high school sciences and maths (excluding the AP level, which has slipped from memory a little bit more!). I was also a very proficient French student. I am not a fluent speaker yet (though I read fluently), but I am very confident up to and including the AP level. I was also raised in Catholic schooling up until university, so could tutor any Catholic religion or Bible classes as well. In addition to my formal experience, I am a triathlete and huge fitness buff, and would be very open to any 'tutoring' or private lesson related to racing/running/swimming. I am also a sound designer for the theatre, so if any student happens to be interested in audio editing or mixing, that is a huge passion of mine! Very much looking forward to chatting with you.
