Learning doesn't have to be boring. In fact, if something is boring, it will not be stored as long term memory. Long term memory is engaged when a student can find something about a subject that is personally meaningful or entertaining, even in a small way. I have constructed activities and games over the last 10 years, that have helped my students reach their goals in math, reading, and/or writing. Matters are simplified, and practiced in unique ways that are more effective and appealing. I vary my approach based on how each student is receptive. I'd be happy to meet you and your child for a free consultation at the library or another public place you are comfortable with. I don't have a large place to tutor from yet, but the library has given me permission to tutor there. I can also travel to your house. Each session lasts an hour and a half, for a flat, weekly fee.
