Finally- you've found me! I've been hiding amongst the posts just waiting for you to click. If you or your student is struggling with math, or just wants a little extra help to stay polished, then let me be your guide. My name is Jeff and I have been a professional educator and tutor in the Portland area for over a decade. I taught high school for several years before moving to Portland Community College where I teach everything from remedial and basic math thru pre-calculus. I find that so much of learning math comes from being able to feel comfortable with the material and the teacher, so I strive to make students feel safe and secure in their learning by creating a fun and focussed environment while breaking down concepts so they're easier to digest and providing real world examples that cater to individual student's likes and personalities. I can help with homework support and study skills, or I can develop curriculum for your individual needs. We can meet at your home, a local library or coffee shop, or somewhere else that works for you. I charge from $30-50 per hour depending on your specific needs such as subject level and location, and I offer discounts for multiple students or multiple sessions per week. I'm available in the mornings and evenings most days, so scheduling can be flexible. I live in southeast PDX, but I'm willing and able to travel throughout the metro area.
