Tutor in Novato, California

I am 30 years old and have been working with students for about six years. I plan on becoming a teacher. I love working with kids and teenagers - all ages K-12. As for college students I can at least play an advisory/mentor type of roll, help with research, and work through subject matter. I am skilled in virtually all subject matter, including Spanish. I can work with students in any single subject or all subjects. I specialize in Math, Reading, Writing, Literature, Research, and Social Sciences. I emphasize critical thinking, organization, positive attitude, developing new skills and, just as importantly, utilizing my students' existing knowledge and skills. My research methods with students are fun and innovative - we start by addressing the research questions using the knowledge we already have in our heads, as a groundwork/infrastructure, THEN add to that by opening the books and reading. I try to make learning cool and fun.:) My other hobbies/professions include music, writing, sports/athletics, animals, driving and cooking. I am highly ambitious and very sociable. I can work with students on an individual basis or in groups. My rates are $25.00 an hour (varies depending on travel). I am based in Novato.
