After excelling in courses such as General and Organic chemistry and physics in college, I became very involved in helping others achieve the same success, after initially being a struggling student myself early in college. At Lehman College, I was a tutor for the science learning center where I tutored general and organic chemistry for 3 semesters. For 2 years, I was a Supplemental Instruction Leader for general chemistry, physics, and organic chemistry in which I created original material to supplement the course, and challenge students to think critically about the material. I am currently an Adjunct Lecturer for the Chemistry department at Lehman College, and the sole Chemistry center tutor at the Trinity School, a top college prep school in the country. My experiences have led me to become a student of studying itself, and my service to you goes beyond simply understanding the course material. For the past 3 years, I have been helping students develop skills that help them become independent learners. I have also helped students improve in area that are crucial to academic achievement, such as stress management, scheduling, and organization. During my undergraduate education as a chemistry major, mastery of basic algebra was a necessity. I excelled in upper division chemistry courses that required proficiency in calculus and algebra, as well as math courses such as precalculus and calculus. I am proficient in introductory biology, and very proficient in general physics, general chemistry, and organic chemistry due to the experiences I have explained in my biography.
