Tutor in Santa Rosa, California

I'm an English major looking to tutor in the Santa Rosa area. I've taught English both in a classroom environment abroad and in private lessons on and off for about five years, and have most recently been working at the SRJC as a tutor. I can help with SAT preparations, essay writing, and grammar, as well as time management, organization, and discipline. I can also help with college applications and personal statements. In the past, I've worked with people on things such as their undergrad theses, final papers, and even creative projects, but also have a lot of experience helping with general study habits. I have a lot of experience of working with disabled students, and am more than happy to continue doing that as well. I'd prefer to meet in a public space, such as the SRJC or public library, but am also willing to meet at your home after an initial public meeting. Right now, my schedule would work best on Friday afternoons or weekends, but I also have a couple of hours available throughout the week. About myself: I am transferring to San Francisco State or UC Berkeley in the Fall, but will be available for the rest of this spring school year, as well as throughout the summer. I'm quite a serious and driven student, and I like to help others be productive and take ownership over what they're learning by really, honestly understanding it. However, while I'm very serious about education, I'm also pretty upbeat and think that learning things while having fun and personalizing the information helps it stick.
