I have a passion for deeply understanding subjects, and helping others to learn them well. The best day is when my student teaches me something. My teaching experience spans one year of teaching assistant work, including leading and/or aiding in laboratory sessions, hosting office hours for one-on-one assistance, and leading tutorial sessions. The content of these three lab-based courses used mathematics, concepts, memory-based learning, and logical reasoning; I helped students in all of these areas. In recognition of my teaching skills, my students have commented that my tutoring style helped them to reach the answers themselves: I did not simply hand them the answers to their problems, but rather asked certain questions to help them analyze the situation. When I delivered a public lecture on Cosmology, in my undergraduate degree, a professor lauded it, saying: "if this is the future of astronomy, then we are in good hands!". My flare for teaching has also been commented on during a brief outreach activity for primary school students. Subjects which I am qualified to tutor include physics, math, calculus, and astronomy. I have achieved my Master's degree in Physics, this past August (2016), and accomplished my Combined Honors Bachelor degree in Physics and Astronomy with Distinction. I enjoy teaching classes of students, and helping students individually. Both are dynamic challenges which I love to dance with. The learning style of each student is different, and it is fun to get to know each student's style as I teach, and then to try to address them all in a group or put more focus on one student's style in a one-on-one setting. My drive to understand deeply, and help others to understand, comes from a deep desire to help the world become better. That starts with each person.
