I have always enjoyed helping others learn, even when I was in grade school and a friend of mine needed some guidance. My favorite subject is math, though, and I am currently working towards a career as a Mathematics teacher. I am unsure of exactly which grade because I love them all! It will be a long journey, but I would not want to do anything else. I have experience tutoring students in elementary school, middle school, high school, and even the undergraduate level. I can currently tutor in the following subjects: Elementary Mathematics, Pre-algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, College Algebra, English, Grammar, Literature, Proofreading, Reading, Spelling, Vocabulary, Writing, Study Skills, Psychology, and General Computer Skills. My goal is to help students develop a strong foundation in the subject they need, and to help them acheive a good understanding of the subject itself. I try to explain things in more than one way to ensure that students are able to apply things in a variety of ways. Another huge focus of mine is on good study habits, which includes note taking skills as well as developing a schedule for completing homework and studying. Being organized is so important when it comes to learning and being successful in school. I also want students to feel comfortable, and I want to ensure that it is a good match on both of our parts. This is why I will always bee 100% open to any feedback, and will never bill for a lesson that the student or parent is not completely happy with. I understand that we all have busy schedules, and that unexpected things may come up last minute. I am flexible with scheduling, if need be, but I do have a 24-hour cancellation policy. However, in the event of an emergency, please contact me as soon as possible and we will work it out. I am also happy to offer makeup lessons in the event that one is cancelled so that my students do not fall behind. As far as location goes, I am okay with whatever the student and parent are comfortable with. Whether it's tutoring at their own home, a library, a coffee shop, etc. I also offer online tutoring services through Skype.
